Invited by SSEN, PRA attended "Smart EV Consultation" Event in London on 21 Mar 2018. Supported by a high level cross-industry Steering Group, Smart EV is seeking views on the technical solution which the DNOs can deploy only on infrequent occasions to manage EV charging, to avoid network emergencies.
PRA was invited by GuangXi Power Grid to give a seminar on the topic "UK Distribution Network Developments and Innovations" in GuangXi, China on 29 Dec 2017. His presentation focused on the diversity, digitization and resilience of future distribution network developments and innovations.
Invited by SSEN as a stakeholder, PRA attended "Supporting a Smarter Electricity System" Event at Oxford Business School on 1 Dec 2017.
PRA was proud to be supporting the IEEE PES workshop "MEEPS 2017 -Big Data Applications in Power Systems" to take on new challenge of Big Data and its role in Power Systems of today and of the future. The workshop was held on 3 Nov 2017 at the University of Manchester. Dr. Xiong Yu represented PRA and ARUP to make a keynote speech on Big Data.
PRA attended CIGRE Evening Seminar "Solving Electricity Network Challenges" on 18 Oct 2017 to discuss the network issues within the coming low carbon world that includes Renewable Generation, Energy Storage, Interconnectors and MicroGrids. The event is held at IET Austin Court.
PRA made a presentation on the topic "Distribution Networks with Greater Distributed Generation and Electric Vehicle Diversity" at the University of Manchester on 5 July 2017 for the event hosted by the University of Manchester's PES Student Branch and co-sponsored by the IEEE UK & Ireland Section PES Chapter.
PRA attended "NTVV&NiNES - How to manage the network of the future" event in IET, London from 28 March to 29 March 2017. The event was organised by Scottish Southern Electricity Networks to reveal discoveries made at both high and low voltages that will support not only the current and future operation of distribution networks, but also the wider supply chain towards a low carbon future.
PRA attended "One Belt One Road Hunan-UK Business Conference 2017" on 16 March, London. The event aimed to explore the co-operative opportunities between UK and China, in areas of engineering, renewable energy and high speed transportation.
